Version Notes

WinPerma 1.04

The update contains the WinPerma.exe file only.
To install, simply copy the download over the existing WinPerma.exe.

  • Horizontal scroll bar added to PERMALIGN Values view. Scroll bar automatically appears when the number of columns exceeds window width.
  • Date added to absolute time view of PERMALIGN Values.
  • Curve settings dialogue added. Curve color and line style can be individually selected for each curve. Settings are global and not project specific.
Applies to all views including trend and polar graphs as well as print outs.
  • The graph legend has been improved to clearly show the curve relationship.
  • The current window size is saved on exit
  • The cursor can be moved between activity flags in the graph view by using the hot-keys CTRL+left arrow and CTRL+right arrow.
The activity note for the cursor position is shown in the status bar.
  • New feature for exporting PERMALIGN raw values into a file with relative or absolute date and time.
  • Y2 compliance

WinPerma 1.03 beta

WinPerma 1.0 through 1.01 was discovered to incorrectly compute formulas under certain conditions.
WinPerma 1.03 beta contains three updates as outlined below.

Changes From V1.01

  • A Fahrenheit bug in the 'Graphic window settings' dialog was fixed. Selecting Fahrenheit in
version 1.01 caused the formula generator to erroneously compute metric to inch conversions
twice. This bug did not exist in version 1.0.
  • The formula generator now handles P(<PermAddress>,XI) and P(<PermAddress>,YI) for
initial value of the PERMALIGN® (it is the first valid value).
  • The formula generator now handles the functions SQR() and SQRT(). There are no buttons
for SQR, SQRT, XI, YI, so you have to enter them manually in the edit field.

    Example:
    SQRT( SQR(P(0,X) - P(0,XI)) + SQR(P(0,Y) - P(0,YI)) )

Do not use AUTOZERO for this type of formula. The resultant calculations will make no sense since the
auto-zero bug was not fixed. Instead a work-around was provided in the form of explicit initial X notation.
To use the work-around, enter P(0,X)-P(0,XI) to explicitly auto-zero instead of pressing the auto-zero
button.

Auto-zero works as it always did for the usual alignment formulas. It is only formulas using squares, trig
functions, and constant offsets that must not use auto-zero and have to use the explicit initial X format of
formula entry.
